U15 registration information
U15 players will have the option for registering for U15 travel or U15 RHL (non-contact). Below is a breakdown of the leagues being offered to U15 players
Hockey Alberta has implemented that all teams Tier 4 or lower will no longer have body checking.
If your player registers for U15 travel and is not successful in securing a roster spot you will be refunded the fee difference between U15 travel and U15 RHL
U15 RHL- The Rocky Hockey League is a non contact league. RHL teams will receive one practice a week and will play their games on the weekends against teams from Canmore, Cochrane, Chestermere and Airdrie. As the league grows more teams will be added. The more teams that Okotoks is able to enter the more games will be played here resulting in less travel.
U15 Travel-Travel teams pay a higher registration fee and will receive 2 practices a week with games on the weekend. The OMHA travel teams play in the Central Alberta Hockey League. If your player is not selected for one of the travel teams they will be placed on a U15 RHL team and you will be refunded the registration fee difference.
U15 AA/AAA- All Okotoks players must register and pay for U15 travel with OMHA prior to registering for the AA/AAA U15 tryouts with OOAA. To register for AA/AAA tryouts please visit the OOOAA website: www.ooaaoilerhockey.ca
